I need to learn C++. Because I like the book's concept and I can already program in several other languages I thought "Accelerated C++: Practical Programming by Example" would be the best choice. However, the book is over 12 years old. Is it still a good idea to pick it up or would I be missing too many important new features of the language? Introduction. As a C++ learner myself I have stumbled across this very compacted (yet effective) self-study book Accelerated C++: Practical Programming by Example (C++ in Depth Series) written by Andrew Koeing. For learning sake I’ve decided to have a go at the end-of-chapter exercises and summarise my own solutions in this page.

Many books introduce C#, but very few also explain how to use it optimally with Common Language Runtime (CLR)/5(3).

Accelerated C# is the fastest path to C# mastery. All C# programmers need to know and understand how C# really works but very few books address this. No other book covers the subject in the depth that this one does.

It teaches both core C# language concepts and /5(16). C# offers powerful new features, and Accelerated C# is the fastest path to mastery, for both experienced C# programmers moving to C# and programmers moving to C# from another object-oriented language.

The edition of the book goes Accelerated C♯ 2008 book classes, Accelerated C♯ 2008 book and objects in more detail than the version and now devotes over 80 pages to the topic. It also has chapters on extension methods and lambda expressions as well as one on LINQ.

Notice that the focus is on C# and how it is implemented in the CLR. You might learn more by digging into current language features and classes from the very beginning. That's the approach that's offered by Accelerated C++, a text that delves into more advanced C++ features like templates and Standard Template Library (STL) collection classes early on.

It covers a much wider scope of C++ programming than other introductory books I've seen, and in a surprisingly compact format. "--Dag BrUck, founding member of the ANSI/ISO C++ committee "The authors present a clear, cogent introduction to C++ programming in a way that gets the student /5(7).

My normal book review disclaimer applies, but probably more so than ever before. Yes, Accelerated C# is a competitor to C# in Depth.

They’re different in many ways, but many people would no doubt be in the target audience for both books. Once you're getting results, Accelerated C++ takes you "under the hood," introducing complex language features such as memory management in context, and explaining exactly how and when to use them.

From start to finish, the book concentrates on solving problems, rather than learning language and library features for their own sake/10(). 图书Accelerated C++中文版 介绍、书评、论坛及推荐.

As the old book title connotates, it is a snack-style c++ beginner book. However, this book lay a focus on how to solve a problem which illustrates the core details of c++.

purposes". TCPL and Accelerated C++ are different books and I think most programmers should have both, but a reference by definition is not the best book with which to "learn C++ quickly", which is what the OP was specifically looking for.

The books themselves state their intended purposes: Accelerated C++ is to help you in writing C++ programs. Although this book is smaller than many C++ books, we have tried to use every important idea at least twice, and key ideas more than that. As a result, many parts of the book refer to other parts.

These references look like §/, which refers to text on page that is part of section —or at least it would do so if this book Brand: Addison-Wesley. Accelerated C# Dear Reader, In your hands is a guide to creating effective C# code. This book focuses precisely on the C# language, showing you how to write programs that are robust, fault-tolerant, and ready to be put into widely available libraries.

Accelerated C# won’t burden your time with endless discussions of libraries.
